Hello, I am thrilled that you are checking out Cornerstone Community Church. My name is Tony Slavin and I have been the Pastor here since September of 2017. Prior to that I was a Pastor for 23 years at a church in Reno. My wife Theresa and I have 8 children and 8 grandchildren who bring us incredible joy. We are both very excited to be ministering here in beautiful North Lake Tahoe where we love all the outdoor activities, especially hiking and mountain biking. If I am not outdoors, then I am reading something in the area of biblical studies, historical theology, or philosophy. I enjoy a novel every once in a while, too; my favorite novelist is Stephen Lawhead. Check him out; you won’t regret reading him. If it is important to you, my education includes a BA in Theology from Multnomah University in Portland, Oregon (1991), and an MA in Exegetical Theology from Western Seminary, also in Portland (1993). Then I went back to Multnomah in 2011 and earned a ThM in Historical Theology with an emphasis in Patristic Theology. At Cornerstone, our desire is to live our lives in such a way that those who live in North Lake Tahoe will see the grandeur of our great God and His Son, Jesus Christ. Please, join us in this venture. Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have about our Church. I would love to hear from you.
I graduated with a B.A. in Biblical Studies/Theology from Azusa Pacific University, and an M.A. in World Missions/Evangelism from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. I have also spent several years on the mission field in Turkey.
I love the Church, talking theology, reading, traveling, Angels baseball, Notre Dame college football, and swimming.
Hello! My name is Elaina Marchegger and it is an honor and a blessing to serve the Cornerstone family through worship arts. I strive to provide a truth-filled, spirit-led, & distraction-free worship experience that creates a comfortable space for every person to praise Christ and encounter His presence. Though a Carson City native, I studied at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ, and received a B.A. in Worship Arts Ministry with a minor in Biblical Studies. I am currently working on a Masters degree from Western Seminary in Biblical and Theological studies. Over the past 9 years, I have had the opportunity to lead worship in a variety of contexts: camp worship, middle and high school programs, local outreach ministries, and conferences, but my favorite place to worship and greatest calling is to the church. I feel so thankful I get to use my passions for music and ministry every day in such an incredible location, and I love every moment spent in worship together as a church community at Cornerstone.
Hello! My personal walk with the Lord is what it is today thanks to my youth leaders who continuously poured into my life. I have served in youth ministry ever since and feel called to share the love of Christ with our North Tahoe youth and beyond. I am honored to serve our community and bring Christ into the center of our middle school and high school students’ lives.
Children's Ministry Director
Hi, Lake Tahoe families and visitors! As Children’s Ministry Director, I am passionate about delivering children’s programming and events that are exciting, engaging, and applicable for children, parents, and volunteers. Our kids’ ministry team is committed to teaching biblical truths, exploring the loving nature of God the Father, and affirming our Christian faith. Our prayer is that we can spark a love of faith, love of learning about Jesus, and set every child up for a successful and loving relationship with our Creator and all those around us. I look forward to working with you and your family as we work together to raise our children up in the way they should go!
Children's Ministry Team Lead
Hello! My name is Amber Pluckhan and I feel so blessed to be apart of Cornerstone Community Church and the Children’s Ministry here. I moved to Incline Village in May of 2019 with my husband, Ryan and our daughter, Avery. We have loved every second of living in this wonderful community and exploring all Lake Tahoe has to offer. I have a background in teaching elementary education and I love incorporating my experience into the church classrooms as well as our MOPS meetings. As the Children’s Ministry Team Lead, it is an honor to walk alongside families and help each child learn as well as grow in their faith. As a parent, I understand the importance we have in raising up these next generations and providing children with Biblical skills and principles to live in this world and be imitators of Christ. In our Children’s Ministry, we strive to walk with parents in cultivating their child’s faith so that they not only know who their Lord and Savior is, but they would continually lean into Him and His Word daily and in every season. I look forward to meeting you and your children whether it is on Sunday mornings for service, Monday mornings for MOPS, or during any of our amazing and fun events we have in store!
Hello and thank you for stopping in to look at the amazing people I get to work with every day!! How can you not fall in love with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ when you see how abundantly He is working in and fulfilling each of these people’s lives. I moved to the North Shore of Tahoe in 2002 and fell in love with its natural beauty, the people and the amazing weather we get to enjoy here all year long! I have a degree in business administration from The University of Texas at San Antonio. I first came to the Lord when I was about 11 years old. My dream as a young boy was to be a pastor. Like so many of us, I fell away from my walk with Christ during my teens and young adult life only to be nudged many times by the Holy Spirit to come back to my Father, my Savior and my truest Friend, Jesus Christ. He is, after all, the only one, EVER, that will never stop listening to me, never stop loving me and never stop being there for me!! I love getting to do all the things that the church needs to get done to thrive within the community. Keeping the church on track, open and ready to serve the community at a moment’s notice is what it’s all about! We are eager to offer assistance in any way we are called on to help those in need. Please email or call if there is something on your heart that you would like us to know about.
Women's Ministry Leader
I was raised in Maryland, graduated from college, and figured I would live there forever until I met Bob! We’ve been married for 33 years and have lived in Incline for almost 25 years. Our daughters, Julie and Kristen, are the joy of our lives! The first Sunday after moving to Incline found our family at this church — though that was 4 church names ago! Though our daughters live out of state, our empty nest is never boring with our three golden retrievers.
I was raised in a wonderful Christian home, and my parents taught me through their role modeling about service and ministry in church. I am blessed to be a part of women’s ministry. My prayer is for every woman to find something special in this ministry. I believe that God has mighty plans for the women in our church and in our community!
I have been married 48 years to Marsha, my high school sweetheart, and have 4 wonderful daughters, 4 great son-in-laws who all love the Lord. We have 15 energetic and lively grandkids. God called me to be a Christian in my late 20’s after becoming a Berkeley Fire fighter and being involved in some tragic events. I served in the Berkeley Fire Dept. 27 years, retiring in 2004 as an Assistant Chief. After retiring I went to Seminary and received my M.Div in 2008. I was asked to come back to the Berkeley Fire Dept as their Chaplain which I did for about 6 years. After graduation I was asked to come on staff at Grace Church Napa as their Associate Pastor, and I held that position until we moved to Lake Tahoe in 2013. I love Biblical Counseling/discipleship. The Lord provided an opportunity to come to Cornerstone Community Church in January 2017, as the interim pastor during it’s transition in leadership. I have been serving as elder since that time.
My name is Neal, and I am an Elder at Cornerstone Community Church. I am serving in my second term as an Elder. I have been married to my wife, Melanie, for twenty three years and have three children, and two grandchildren. I am a retired Land Surveyor. I have been involved in various ministries for over twenty-two years. I am a student of history and I compete in the Scottish Highland Games in several states.
Hello, my name is Michael Sacci and I am one of the elders here at Cornerstone Community Church. My wife and I started attending this church back when we were called LifePoint, and meeting at Incline High School. We even had the privilege of getting married here at Cornerstone Church, while it was still under construction back in 2011. Nathalie, my high school sweetheart and I, have been blessed with 2 beautiful children Sofia and Jackson. In my past, I spent a total of 8 years serving the US Air Force, and now I currently get to serve our community as a Firefighter for North Tahoe Fire Protection District. I am the NTF team leader for the Community Emergency Response Team, and have served 10 years coaching Incline High School’s Varsity Football program. I am so honored to have this opportunity to serve as a part of the leadership team within this amazing church.
