What Cornerstone Church is Like
We know that attending a church service for the first time can be intimidating. Being unsure of what the dress, culture, or even when to stand up and sit down can create unnecessary anxiety for visiting a church. At Cornerstone Community Church, you can expect friendly and authentic people, engaging and relevant music and worship, compelling preaching from the Bible, and an opportunity to encounter God. You will be encouraged and maybe even challenged. We believe you will feel right at home the moment you walk through our doors.
One thing that causes people to stress out is what to wear at church. At Cornerstone you’ll find most people dress however they are most comfortable. Most are casual, while others prefer to spruce it up a bit. Our pastors don’t wear ties or suits either. Do what is most comfortable for you. We are much more concerned about what’s going on inside a person than what clothes they wear on the outside. Feel free to come as you are.
Cornerstone Church is a place where you can find positive and encouraging community. Whether you are young, old, married, single, or in transition, you will find people in your phase and stage of life to connect with and grow together in your faith.
Our talented musicians lead our church with a modern style. We don’t own a pipe organ. Our live band usually consists of guitars, drums, and keys. We do our best at blending the old with the new when it comes to our worship style. You are free to sit, stand or participate however you feel comfortable.
Every Sunday we hope to encourage and equip the congregation with a message of hope from a life lived with Jesus Christ. Most Sundays, you’ll hear from our Senior Pastor, Tony Slavin, who is an experienced teacher and preacher. He’s taught the Bible around the world and has an amazing ability to make the sacred scriptures applicable for our daily lives.
Fun for the Kids
We offer dynamic children’s services from birth to 5th grade during the Sunday morning gathering. The creative environment and experienced teachers will help your children learn about God in a relevant way, as well as offer fun experiences that will help the teaching come alive in their hearts.
Activities and Socials
One of the joys of Lake Tahoe is the many diverse activities to enjoy. From mountain biking, boating, skiing, golfing, hiking to simply lounging at the beach (and everything in between), you will find friends who enjoy the same activities you do.
